Maintenance Technician
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Detroit, Michigan area needs 2nd & 3rd Shift Machine Repair / Maintenance Technician's. These are Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Positions offering Competitive Compensation, Off Shift Premium, Good Benefits, Paid Holiday and Paid Vacation.
Responsibilities:
Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area. Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Removes and replaces worn or defective parts. Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches. Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe. Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair. Repairs broken parts. Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.). Modifies computer controlled motion of robot. Assists Engineer to modify sketches or computer generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism Participates in continuous improvement activities. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors. Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. Help troubleshoot and repair equipment Help troubleshoot and repair equipment Perform repairs on field equipment repairs Providing high quality repair service on equipment Perform repair and maintenance tasks Recognize equipment that need repair Obtain repair and maintenance instructions Perform minor or routine maintenance or repair Replace or repair worn parts Locate and repair defective parts Maintain and order repair parts Diagnose and repair all refrigeration equipment Provide electrical service and/or repair to customer units Perform building repair and maintenance activities Dismantle equipment/machines and make proper repair Discuss repair, maintenance and applications of equipment Maintain appropriate maintenance and repair logs Handle routine repair and maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems Troubleshoot and repair all capital equipment Disassemble fire protection equipment to repair and maintain systems, and replace or repair defective parts Recommended Skills Assembling Hydraulics Installations (Manual/Mechanical) Machinery Preventive Maintenance Replace Damaged Component Apply to this job.
