Assistant Dean, Student Affairs- Law School Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Dean, Student Affairs- Law School at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
The Assistant Dean of StudentAffairs serves as the primary administratorresponsible for managing and administering the Office of Student Affairs andensures due process and educational outcomes that promote the quality ofstudent life, academic success, and community.
The Assistant Dean of StudentAffairs will provide leadership, management, andstrategic direction for Wayne State Law School's Office of Student Affairs andis responsible for fostering students'personal, academic and ethical development.
Provideleadership, management and strategic direction for the Office of StudentAffairs, working in coordination with other relevant administrators,departments and faculty within the Law School and the University as needed.
Provide individualized advice and counseling to current Law Schoolstudents on academic and non-academic matters affecting students' success andexperiences while enrolled at the Law School.
Provide oversight, management and support to effortsinitiated by the Law School's Office of Student Affairs and elsewhere withinthe Law School to build and maintain a diverse, pluralistic and inclusivestudent body and culture.
Lead development, coordination and implementation ofprogramming and services, differentiated as appropriate based on the needs ofdiverse groups, for (1) annual orientation for incoming new Law Schoolstudents, and (2) academic success and support for current Law Schoolstudents.
Oversee development, coordination, and implementation ofprogramming, services and procedures, differentiated for diverse groups, toenhance the culture of the Law School and support positive experiences ofstudents while enrolled at the Law School, including support services withregard to student organizations and disability accommodations, working incoordination with other relevant administrators and departments within theLaw School and the University, if and as applicable.
Administer the Law School'sAcademic Regulations in coordination with the Law School's Registrar and theDean's Office and, in coordination with appropriate Universityadministrators, administering application of Wayne State University academicrules and policies if and to the extent applicable to Law School students,including appropriate referral of student issues to University offices andpersonnel responsible for such University academic rules and policies.
Manage any Law School contractsand relationships with outside vendors for programming and services directedat Law School students.
Work with the appropriate LawSchool faculty committees on academic and non-academic matters relating toLaw School students and serve on Law School and University committees asassigned.
Maintain up to date awareness andprovides relevant updates to the Dean's Office and/or faculty andadministrators within the Law School as appropriate, with regard to AmericanBar Association and other accreditation requirements to the extent relevantto programming and services provided by the Law School's Office of StudentAffairs.
Overseecompilation, management and reporting of statistical data relevant to studentparticipation in and value of academic and non-academic programming madeavailable for Law School students by the Law School's Office of StudentAffairs.
Provide required letters (e.
g.
, good standing and character and fitnessletters) relating to an individual student's behavior during enrollment atthe Law School to the extent necessary and appropriate.
Provide individualized advice andcounseling to current and former Law School students on all matters relatingto character and fitness disclosures.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean's Office related toLaw School student affairs.
Qualifications:
Education Doctorate degree JD or equivalent graduate degree Experience Expert (established subject matter expert, 7
years experience) JD or equivalent graduatedegree plus a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsibleexperience, as well as proven leadership, in student development, studentaffairs, individual and group collaboration and advisement of students.
